MARBLE

Faux marble can be painted on a variety of surfaces and has been used since antiquity. Real marble is heavy, damages easily, and requires proper installation. If done well, faux marble can be more beautiful than the actual stone, allowing one to pick and replicate the veining desired. It also has a much warmer and more welcoming feel.
